Our Pricing
Below you will see the Precious Gift Price (subsidised by the sale of the Precious Coats), and the Precious True Price, which reflects the true cost of making each garment. All we ask of you is that you pay what you can afford. If you genuinely want to change your fashion consumption habits, buy better and less frequently, but if price is a real barrier, then pay the subsidised Precious Gift Price. If you have a bit more disposable income and can pay the full Precious True Price, then we would be so grateful.
Fabric & Lining
Fabric & Lining
Fabric - A midweight certified organic hemp, this plain weave, yarn-dyed fabric has been woven with ‘Kale’, a dark khaki green yarn, on both the warp and weft with naturally occurring slabs throughout. A non-stretch, opaque, matt finish fabric with a light bouncy handle. The pure hemp yarn creates an all-over heathered look with a delightful, flecked finish and soft granular texture. Not unlike linen, hemp grows softer with wear and care which, along with its natural UV resistance, antibacterial and breathability properties, make for a beautiful fabric to have in your wardrobe long term.
Lining - This garment is not lined.
Fit & Sizing Information
Fit & Sizing Information
Look at the table below, measure your chest/bust and check which size you come under. The table below will also give you actual garment measurements for your size.
The shirt is designed to fit at the shoulder with lots of ease below so if you have a reasonably accurate chest measurement, your size will be correct for fit.
Please note that while we do our best to control all measurements, the fabrication and individual construction of each garment means that minor variances to the measurements listed above can occur.
Our hemp shirt is a straight line fit from the shoulder with a yoke. It will flatter most figure types, men or women. It doesn’t have any pockets... It’s there to throw on over anything, or nothing, dressing you up without adding weight. And the side split makes your pant pockets easy to access.
The back hem is very long – it looks fabulous to just float around in – or, if you're handy with a sewing machine, it is a simple matter to chop it off if you prefer an even hemline. It presents opportunity to individualise, perhaps with a clasp or a belt, accentuating shape and adding detail and colour.
The mandarin collar looks good over a turtle neck, a t-shirt or nothing, open or closed. It has a formal feel whilst not looking like it’s missing a tie. It also has a slightly spiritual feel, lending a bit of sincerity to the wearer! Or am I getting a little carried away....
It has stud front and cuff closures and a mid-back pleat.
The colour of the Precious hemp shirt is Kale, an earthy green that will look good with navy, black or most other base colours for tights or pants underneath.
The fabric is organic hemp. It behaves much like linen and, as it’s clearly a natural fabric with the occasional slub, it gets away with exhibiting a few creases.
